Before Other Paths became known for curated small-group journeys, we began as a service-learning organization.
Since 2007, we have brought travelers to Kenya to build relationships, learn from local communities, and support ongoing initiatives in Machakos County. Those early experiences shaped our belief that meaningful travel is not simply about where you go—it is about how you show up, who you meet, and what remains after the journey ends.
We are proud to continue that work today.
In addition to our offering small-group travel experiences, Other Paths welcomes schools, churches, civic organizations, university groups, families, and mission-minded private groups seeking a custom journey with purpose. Each trip is designed around your group’s interests, capacity, and goals, combining cultural immersion, responsible service opportunities, and time to experience the beauty, hospitality, and complexity of Kenya.
Our service journeys support projects and partnerships that are already underway in Machakos County. Guests do not arrive to “save” a community; they arrive ready to listen, participate respectfully, and become part of a larger story of mutual exchange and long-term collaboration.
